Osu, Nagoya. 大須、名古屋

Osu is located in the central part of nagoya. i like this area since it has a diversity. shops for tourists, youngs, elderlies, geeks, weirdos, and of course ordinary people. theres also several temples around. there are also porno shops, brazilian shops, kebab place, kindof china town, electric shops, so basically, you can buy anything there.

it looks sometimes quite chaotic, but i believe this chaos is a charm of asian culture.

id say, that i love this area. yet theres one thing i dont like here. some cyclists just ride a bike as if theres nobody around, although its often quite clouded by pedestrians. and although theres a sort of bike lane provided and its used by bike, its way of use is totally wrong! they use the path to leave the bikes!! these are not the problems only for here, (but elsewhere in japan) but i dont like it.

i am a cyclist myself, and i love cycling in cities. i believe that bikes are the most balanced vehicles to produce both transportation and human activities. and its the sustainable transportation vehicle as well. its not denyable that not many cities in japan have provided any good infrastructure for bicycles, yet i cant deny that cyclists themselves are not behaving properly. if cyclists will notice how great they travel and how to ride bikes on the street, it would be super great.

somehow, osu has gone in the end, but what i want to say is that we have to ride bikes more properly...:P
