asakusa, tokyo. 浅草、東京

on a rainy day on May 6th, i made a good walk with a friend of mine from ueno to asakusa tokyo. asakusa is the touristic place with good downtown vibration in tokyo. the famouse kaminarimon and sensouji attract many tourists to come, but i believe that the downtown attmosphere and energetic street lives are the most attractive things here. since it was already late by the time we arrived and because of the shitty weather, it wasnt so clouded and no many things happening.

the idea of human-taxi providing good touristic information is good, although ive never used it before. it makes the district more old downtown like, i think.

nakamise street is located between welknown kaminarimon and sensouji. there are many shops for tourists, tranditional japanese products shops, and some japanese snack shops. i really like this street, since there is a diversity of activities, people, and goods.

i know that this is the most famous place for tourists, and i cant deny that i dont know whats more about this area yet at all, there are so many places make me feel the good old days of showa times. asakusa makes me notice that we have forgotten so many great things we enjoyed long time ago. ive never been to such plays, it was my first time to see smart-ball hall, and ive never been to any strip clubs in japan. many people go to movies, pachinko-hall, and some other sex industrial areas, yet it seems they can be another great choice as an entertainment.

the reason asakusa attracts many tourists is that it still has things that modern people have lost. they come to see the value of the past, since they have missed it. it maybe a good idea to revalue the benefit that asakusa possesses, and try to adapt it to our ways of life.
